Tonka Babe Ruth and Tonka Travel:
……….Together and Ready to Play!
Minnetonka Baseball is the creation of a new and exciting organization - Tonka Babe Ruth and newly-named Tonka Travel (formerly Minnetonka Baseball Association, or “Metro”). Minnetonka area youth aged 13-15 have always played competitive baseball according to their age and level of ability, including travel programs, which formerly were separate from the other competitive leagues offered by Tonka Babe Ruth. Minnetonka Baseball was formed to offer ALL levels of competitive youth baseball “under one roof”!
We are pleased to announce that Minnetonka Baseball will now offer both programs under a unified governing board! Now registration, administration and management of all teams will be simplified for coaches, players and supporters! With the combination of travel and non-travel programs, Minnetonka Baseball will gain efficiencies in areas where we overlap; yet have the autonomy needed for each organizational style.
Minnetonka Baseball will work hard to provide a “customized” baseball experience for area youth. Each player will have the opportunity to be evaluated, for every available league. The individual player will be matched with the best competitive experience for their current stage of baseball development. Through its various leagues, Minnetonka Baseball will accommodate differing family preferences concerning travel, length of season, and the preferred number of games and practices.
Minnetonka Baseball is open to ALL youth ages 13 and up who live or go to school in the Minnetonka School District! (Tonka Babe Ruth's program for older players, Senior Babe Ruth, is available for players ages 16 and up.) The player evaluation and team formation process has already been completed for the 2012 Tonka Travel program. Full information about the 2012 Tonka Babe Ruth program will be arriving soon, with registration taking place in January.
